✨ Join the Junior Justice Club! ✨
For curious minds aged 8–13
What is fairness, really? Is it everyone getting the same thing — or everyone getting what they need? Step into the world of right, wrong, and everything in between with our Junior Justice Club, an exciting online adventure where young thinkers become mini champions of justice! We will discover and explore various things including:
🌍 Environmental Fairness:
Who’s responsible for keeping our parks clean? How can we make climate-friendly choices that are fair to people and the planet? We’ll explore what “environmental justice” means through real-life examples, creative challenges, and fun debates that show how even small actions can make a big difference.
📚 Fairness in Fairytales:
Was Goldilocks fair when she ate Baby Bear’s porridge? Did Jack really have the right to take the giant’s golden egg? We’ll retell and rethink classic fairytales through a fairness lens — with plenty of imagination and discussion!
🦁 Disney and Doing What’s Right:
From Simba’s lessons in leadership in The Lion King to Aladdin’s tricky choices about truth and theft, we’ll dive into Disney stories to uncover the moral dilemmas behind the magic.
💭 Justice in Everyday Life:
What’s the fair way to share chores or stand up when something’s not right? We’ll use games, stories, and mini role-plays to help young people think about fairness in their own world.
Please note:
- If a class with exactly the same name is on more than once a week it is a repeat lesson with the same content. As places are limited and so you don’t have duplicate lessons please only sign up for the one class per week. This will leave spaces for other customers and stop any additional cost to yourself as we will be unable to give a refund.
- On occasions we may have to change the day or time of a course or on rare occasions the course is cancelled. This maybe due to a teacher leaving or low numbers. We do try to do this only when absolutely necessary and will always give advance warning and try to offer an alternative for you.
- Standard classes are £3 and numbers are limited to 40. Smaller classes (e.g, GCSE) are £6 are per student and classes are kept smaller at 25 maximum. If there is more than 1 child joining a £6 class you need to make sure you have added the correct amount to your basket. We reserve the right to ask for back payments if this does not happen.
- For safeguarding purposes, every Zoom lesson includes a brief visual registration at the beginning which requires children to have their webcam switched on and their correct name (the one used on their LLP child profile) displayed on Zoom. If your child would like to join lessons but is anxious about this or needs to have their face covered during lessons for religious or any other reason please get in touch, and we can arrange a password for them to use instead.
- We are now offering some courses as pre recorded lessons in topic blocks on llpextralearningspace.co.uk This then allows you to buy previous lessons in topic packs either for revision purposes or to do a topic yourselves. We recognise that this will have some issues for those that do not wish to be on camera so the new format of the class is that the visual register and any informal discussions happen before and after the lesson itself is recorded. The teachers will all have their settings set to speaker view so that the thumbnail of whoever is speaking will only be highlighted when or if they speak. If you do not want your child to appear in the recording it is your responsibility to ensure the camera is switched off after the visual register unless they have an agreed password then it can remain switched off at all times.
