Spanish Intermediate Year 2 Topics (age guide 11 – 14)

¡Hola!

Welcome to our Spanish Intermediate Year 2 course!  

This course is the follow-on to our Spanish Intermediate Year 1 course, or for students who have studied Spanish for a year or two before joining LLP.  The course assumes some knowledge of the immediate future tense (eg “voy a jugar al fútbol”) as well as the past tense (eg “ayer, jugué al fútbol”), but both of these tenses will be revised over the year.  The course is based on the textbook AQA GCSE Spanish Foundation (by John Halksworth), units 1-3.  We will cover these three topics:  Identity and Relationships, Healthy Lifestyle, and Education and Work.  This will give you a good grasp of three of the nine GCSE topics, as well as helping you review vocabulary and grammar previously learnt. You will be introduced to the type of tasks you are likely to meet in the GCSE exam.

Materials:
You do not need to buy a textbook, as all materials will be provided on the website, although if you intend to continue Spanish up to GCSE, you may like to buy your own copy so you can make notes on it during class.
Please check the entries under “materials” for each lesson, as that’s where I’ll post Class Documents (sheets that, ideally, need to be printed out before that specific lesson) and Optional Tasks (additional, optional tasks for those children who to wish to practise what they’ve learnt after the lesson).

It’s always helpful to have pen and paper ready in case you need / want to write something down during the lesson.
