In response to the popular classes for Focus on Maths, Learn Laugh Play is now offering a second class for children working on KS3 Maths.

This new class will consolidate and extend Key Stage 3 Maths skills. This class will be different in that it will focus on specific areas of KS3 maths that often pose issues for students during KS3 but can also extend into KS4. Learners will practise and utilise different skills for various tricky topics that they have been introduced to in Focus on Maths but might need to practise or build on their current understanding. What is uniquely exciting about this class is that Alice will be giving the children the opportunity to take part in a vote to decide which specific area the children want to focus on next! So, if your child is struggling with fractions or algebra, they will get the chance to vote to practise the very skills they need more help with!

Note: This class is designed to run alongside Focus on Maths, so it is a good idea to sign up for both until your child is ready to move up to Key Stage GCSE Maths.

Please note:

If a class with exactly the same name is on more than once a week it is a repeat lesson with the same content. As places are limited and so you don’t have duplicate lessons please only sign up for the one class per week. This will leave spaces for other customers and stop any additional cost to yourself as we will be unable to give a refund.

On occasions we may have to change the day or time of a course or on rare occasions the course is cancelled. This maybe due to a teacher leaving or low numbers. We do try to do this only when absolutely necessary and will always give advance warning and try to offer an alternative for you.

Standard classes are £3 and numbers are limited to 40. Smaller classes (e.g. GCSE) are £6 are per student and classes are kept smaller at 25 maximum. If there is more than 1 child joining a £6 class you need to make sure you have added the correct amount to your basket. We reserve the right to ask for back payments if this does not happen.

For safeguarding purposes, every Zoom lesson includes a brief visual registration at the beginning which requires children to have their webcam switched on and their correct name (the one used on their LLP child profile) displayed on Zoom. If your child would like to join lessons but is anxious about this or needs to have their face covered during lessons for religious or any other reason please get in touch, and we can arrange a password for them to use instead.

We are now offering some courses as pre recorded lessons in topic blocks on llpextralearningspace.co.uk This then allows you to buy previous lessons in topic packs either for revision purposes or to do a topic yourselves. We recognise that this will have some issues for those that do not wish to be on camera so the new format of the class is that the visual register and any informal discussions happen before and after the lesson itself is recorded. The teachers will all have their settings set to speaker view so that the thumbnail of whoever is speaking will only be highlighted when or if they speak. If you do not want your child to appear in the recording it is your responsibility to ensure the camera is switched off after the visual register unless they have an agreed password then it can remain switched off at all times.
