ISSUE: 8 – THE BEAUTY OF CONSISTENCY
Hello everyone,
This week our focus is the importance of consistency. The last two newsletters were about friendship and anxiety and writing them both made me think a lot about how consistency matters. Friendships have the opportunity to grow if we keep going back to the same group or doing the same activity consistently and anxiety can also be lessened significantly when we follow a consistent routine.
We talk a lot about flexibility at LLP. It has always been really important to us that we offer you flexibility – but in a way, by being so flexible, i feel we have perhaps not given enough value to consistency. We’re not taking away the option to be completely flexible, because that matters to parents and we completely understand why. But when children attend the same classes every single week it gives them the chance to really settle in, get to know people, maximise their learning and feel that all important sense of belonging. So I think it is important that we talk about consistency too.
Having said that, staying in the wrong class is never the right thing! We recommend you let your child try different classes and then choose the ones that are right for them – and then gently encourage consistency.
And consistency isn’t just about attending classes – it is also something children can benefit from in daily and weekly patterns. This newsletter explores a few different ways that consistency can be a really positive thing.
Happy Reading!

THE 9AM CLUB
If you haven’t yet seen, we have a brand new very special group starting in September, called the 9am club. There are a maximum of 12 children in our first 9am club and they will be meeting every Monday to Thursday at 9am, for Maths, English, Study Skills/Wellbeing. The first 9am club is going to be run by the amazing Courtney and is for children aged 8 – 11!
There will be the chance for 3 one to one sessions with with Courtney every term as well as a termly report on your child’s learning and place within LLP as a whole. The 9am club is definitely going to be an excellent way to prioritise consistency for its members.
You can find out all the details and book a place on this page. Places are available on a first come first served basis. If you are interested in our Key Stage 3 and SEND Teens 9am clubs that we are hoping to start soon, there is also a form on the page where you can register your interest in those!

WEEKLY FAMILY WELLBEING – FREE SLEEP CHALLENGE!!
This week’s wellbeing focus fits our theme perfectly, because as we all know, sleep is one area where consistency really pays dividends for children’s emotional wellbeing. Why not try the LLP Seven Day Sleep Challenge? All you need to do is click on the link and print off the cards. You can let your child decorate them and then laminate them if you want, (optional). Ask everyone in your family to choose one thing to do every night for a week (or at least five nights out of seven). After seven days, use the “Sleep Findings Chart” (which is on the same page – just follow the link) and evaluate together: did anything make a positive difference? This is a simple fun way to put your child in charge of their own sleep experiment, and it’s suitable for all ages (including adults!) A well-rested child tends to find everything that little bit easier, from learning to friendships to managing stress.
LOLLIPOP’S SLEEP CHALLENGE
Hello everyone! I’m doing the Seven Day Sleep Challenge too! I chose the card about putting screens away before bed, and I’ll be honest — it was really hard at first, because I do love watching Winnie the Pooh before bed! But instead I found a lovely book about bees and honey, and after a few days something funny happened — I started to really look forward to my book, and I was falling asleep much faster too! Why don’t you have a go? I’ll let you know how the rest of my week goes soon.

LLP BESPOKE CURRICULUMS

Did you know that every one of our classes runs on a carefully created one or two year curriculum, designed specifically for LLP learners by our own teachers? Where it needs to match the National Curriculum, it does – and where it needs to be adapted for home educated children, or simply taught in a more fun and engaging way, that’s exactly what our teachers have done.
Each course is a complete package, and consistency is what makes it work: your child learns without gaps, and their knowledge – and more importantly their skills – build steadily over time. What we see, again and again, is that the children who follow a course through benefit hugely, in their understanding of the subject, their confidence within that subject, their relationship with the teacher and their confidence within the group / ability to create real friendships and work with their classmates.

PINWINS UPDATE
By the way, consistency is built into PinWins too. Bit by bit we’re building a complete learning ecosystem — preparing children for the modern world across everything that matters, from their own wellbeing and friendships to real skills like technology and science and a confident understanding of the wider world. There are seven badges available now, with four new PinWins unlocking very soon and four more every month after that.
But PinWins has its own gentle monthly rhythm as well.
The new badges are unlocked at the end of the previous month, giving your child time to choose which ones they’d like to work towards.
As soon as you’ve bought them, your children can start learning , choosing from the 48 activities in the PinWin discovery book which comes with each PinWin. Children approach PinWins learning in different ways: some do one a day so they finish the set by month’s end, some take one PinWin at a time across a week, and some have “PinWin days” where they happily lock in and hyper-focus on one all day!
Badges are posted on the 10th and should arrive by the 16th — parents, you’ll need to hide them away until the Award Ceremony!
Then at the end of the month, usually the first Wednesday, we all come together on Zoom for our family award ceremony to celebrate the children’s achievements.
That rhythm keeps learning fresh and exciting, and momentum builds as your child adds to their collection.
There are still a couple of founding member places left at £2.50 a month — www.pinwins.co.uk.
