Spanish Beginners (Year 2) Topics (age guide 5 – 11)

Welcome to Beginners’ Spanish Group 2

Hola! y bienvenidos! 

Hello, and welcome to Beginners’ Spanish Year 2!  This is a relaxed, fun and interactive Spanish course, ideal for those who have completed our Beginners’ Year 1 course, or for students who have already learnt the basics before joining LLP.   We will be practising lots of speaking, playing games and singing to help you continue your Spanish journey. 

The course is based on modules 4-6 of the textbook Mira Express book One.  After a swift revision of introducing yourself and talking about your family and your pets, you will learn how to describe your house and how to talk about your everyday activities using the present tense.  Next, we will build on your existing knowledge of talking about your free time by learning how to tell the time, and discuss different sports.  You will also learn how to describe your town, and how to invite friends to a social activity, like going to the cinema, or meeting up in town.  The course will include an introduction to the future tense, to enable to talk about your plans for the weekend or holiday time.

You can participate as little or as much as you wish, and everyone who wants to practise speaking Spanish will have an opportunity to do so every lesson.

Materials:
You do not need to buy a textbook, as all materials will be provided on the website.  
Please check the entries under “materials” for each lesson, as that’s where I’ll post Class Documents (sheets that, ideally, need to be printed out before that specific lesson) and Optional Tasks (additional, optional tasks for those children who to wish to practise what they’ve learnt after the lesson).

It’s always helpful to have pen and paper ready in case you need / want to write something down during the lesson.
