In Word Wizards, we are going to be exploring and building interesting vocabulary together. Every week, we add another word into our Word Wizards Journal (download and print from link below) and also we often explore grammar terms together.

There is no fixed 2 year plan for Word Wizards as things can change week to week. These classes offer the opportunity to build up vocabulary and grammar skills. In a typical Word Wizards lesson, we warm up with a word-based activity, for example, sometimes we create our own sentences about a picture or play a game of wordle! We then introduce the word of the week followed by a grammar or punctuation activity. For the final part of the session, we look at a comprehension text together and answer questions including about the vocabulary found in the text.

For safeguarding purposes, each Zoom lesson includes a brief registration at the beginning which requires children to have their webcam switched on. If your child would like to join lessons but is anxious about this or needs to have their face covered during lessons for religious or any other reason please get in touch, and we can arrange an alternate method of registration for them.
