IGCSE Geography (Cambridge) Paper 2 Topics (age guide 14 – 16)
I’m Joanne and I am going to be taking over the IGCSE Geography class.
I am so excited to meet you all and get started!
This course is the newer version of the GCSE Geography course that has previously run. Many things are very similar and/ or are staying the same, however there have also been some changes. Some key changes include a more international approach to topics, as well as a more comprehensive focus on climate change and sustainability.
The main themes as part of the new qualification are:
- Population and Settlement
- The Natural Environment
- Economic Development
The IGCSE exam coverage includes:
- Paper 1 – Geographical themes – in this exam pupils chose 3 questions to answer
- Paper 2 – Geographical skills – all questions must be answered
- Paper 4 – a combination of knowledge of paper 1 & 2 all questions must be answered
Paper 1 will be taught Friday at 10am – this will provide course coverage over two years.
Paper 2 will be taught Monday 11am – this is a 1-year course that will need to be covered in addition to the paper 1 course to ensure full coverage of the IGCSE Geography course.
Paper 4 is covered across both classes
*Remember to bring pens, pencils and colouring pencils with you.
I look forward to seeing you there!
