Beginner French Y1 Topics (age guide 7 – 10)

Hello, and welcome to Beginners’ French! This is a relaxed, fun and interactive introduction to French.   We will be doing lots of speaking, playing games and singing to help you on your French journey.

The course is based on the textbook Dynamo 1.  You will learn be learning how to introduce yourself and talk about yourself, your family and pets.  You’ll also learn how to talk about what you do in your free time, which subjects you like learning, and where you live.   The course will also focus on learning about the culture of French-speaking countries, including their food, their way of life, and their festivals. 

You can participate as little or as much as you wish, and everyone who wants to practise speaking a little French will have an opportunity to do so every lesson.

Materials:
You do not need to buy a textbook, as all materials will be provided on the website.  However, if you wish to have your own copy, so you can write in it during our lessons, you can buy a second hand one for £2-3 from World of Books or similar company .
Please check the entries under “materials” for each lesson, as that’s where I’ll post Class Documents (sheets that, ideally, need to be printed out before that specific lesson) and Optional Learning Tasks (additional, optional tasks for those children who to wish to practise what they’ve learnt after the lesson).

It’s always helpful to have pen and paper ready in case you need / want to write something down during the lesson.
