DATE: SUNDAY 26TH JUNE 2026
ISSUE: 1

Hello everyone,

Welcome to the first ever LLP Weekly! We have had so many people say how much they were enjoying the fortnightly newsletter that we thought we would make it even better! From now on the LLP Weekly will come out every Sunday evening letting you know about everything that is happening at LLP in the coming week and offering you some friendly home ed support and inspiration.

We are working hard to create some amazing resources for you. Please take some time to explore the website as we are adding new resources and new ways to learn every single week.

If you fill in the pop up at the top of our website (or scroll down on the homepage), you can be added to a special mailing list for people who want to be kept up to date with new initiatives. We have some really BIG things launching in the next few months, that we are keeping quiet about for now but if you scroll down on the home page or look in the pop up you will see a couple of spoiler alerts!

CLASSES YOU MIGHT WANT TO TRY

Theatre Studies Monday 9am

Explore how theatre has developed from Ancient Greece to the present day, study influential practitioners such as Stanislavski and Brecht, and learn how to interpret and stage scripts as an actor, director, or designer. Students also create their own original performance, developing practical, analytical, and creative skills relevant both in theatre and beyond.

LAMDA Monday 2pm

Recognised graded Speech and Drama exams with LAMDA are a wonderful way to develop confidence, communication and performance skills, be that Acting or Speaking in Public. Oracy skills are essential throughout life far beyond an exam; they will be drawn upon in interviews, teaching, training others or sharing and presenting ideas coherently in a team.

NEW CHILD PROFILES

If you have not yet set up your child profiles, please go to “Manage child accounts” in your membership area and add your child and allocate them their classes. This then means that they can access classes via their own account and message their classmates and teachers.

It has been really good to see so many of your children using their LLP Usernames on Zoom. This is the name generated by the website and looks like your child’s name followed by a hyphen and two letters. This username allows us to keep children safe on Zoom and stay surname free.

If you have not yet done so, please set up your child’s profile (it takes about 2 minutes per child) and make sure they are using their username this week.

Once set up your child will have their very own profile – some child friendly tips on making the most of their profiles can be found here.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

The other day I saw a post on Instagram by the Times, written I assume by someone that works for a local authority. They were claiming that all they see when going into home educating homes is children doom scrolling and sitting with “a text book”. I don’t usually comment on other accounts but I had to say something and punched a rather long paragraph reply into my phone! The truth is, that what I see from our community over and over again is parents that care so much for their children, are often making big sacrifices to make home education possible, and are doing an amazing job. That is you – you are the parents that we see showing up and doing your absolute best for your children.

This is a last minute addition to the newsletter but it fits in perfectly here and I couldn’t not include it! We have had so many lovely emails this week from happy parents and we really appreciate ALL of your comments and reviews but THIS was by far our favourite and I think it might be yours too! If you haven’t seen it yet on our social media, here is a link to Archie, one of our learners, singing his song that he wrote called HOME ED FREEDOM. I cannot put into words how beautiful it is and how perfectly it captures the fear that so many of us had before we committed to home education or how amazing it is for our children when we do.
My favourite lyric “Mum took a leap of faith, and suddenly everything changed” It is impossible not to get emotional watching this and listening to this. And we were very happy to be a chorus lyric!! Well done Archie – thank you so much for sharing your song with us. You are amazing.

ARCHIE’S HOME ED FREEDOM SONG

Home educating isn’t the easy choice. It is a huge leap of faith. We genuinely think you are amazing for making that choice for your children.
